The Alchemist celebrates his 49th birthday with “Drakkar Noir,” a smooth, self-produced single that puts his rapping skills front and center. The legendary producer delivers sharp punchlines in a new music video filmed in Santa Monica, continuing an active 2026 filled with notable collaborations.
The Alchemist is celebrating his 49th birthday in style. In case you forgot, the legendary producer can rap too, and he takes the mic himself on “Drakkar Noir,” a smooth, self-produced single. He heads to Santa Monica for the video, delivering heavy punchlines and reminding us he’s just as sharp behind the mic as he is behind the boards.
It’s the latest in a busy 2026 for Alc, who’s also linked up with Erykah Badu on “Before the World Blows” and with DJ Premier and Evidence on “No Explanation.” The production on “Drakkar Noir” is great, as expected, with the mixing by Eddie Sancho and mastering by Joe Laporta. Check out the video above.
Happy birthday, Alchemist.
