Dinner At The Thompson’s latest video is considerably darker and more political than their previous ones, but does not fall flat in the funk department. The video is essentially a series of symbolic, and sometimes graphic, photographs that are constructed to make the viewer question the definition of the words like “Father,” “Country,” and “Happiness,” and suspect “the system” in general. They brought on Boston-based MC Insight to drop some call-to-arms bars, such as “Temperature is rising/ Senators are lying/ Tentacles are common/ Generals are silent/ Terrible the violence/ Chemicals combining/ Federal alliance.” Throughout the video’s striking imagery, Lucille maintains her sultry sensuality while singing the cautionary hook over Fablive’s dark and panicky production.
