Turnbull’s remix is for “The Voices,” the second song on the EP, and also the track that begins Hamster Kid’s journey as he looks to break free from artistic restriction and his capture in an underground complex. While the original laid a bed of haunting instrumentation, courtesy of Cassettes Won’t Listen, for Bisco Smith’s weaving tale, Turnbull’s remix turns things to the frenetic, with break-neck speed drums and joined by rapid percussion, all of which is balanced and contrasted by remix’s understated instrumentation.
