NY Rap Veterans Fire Back at 50 Cent With New Freestyle

While today’s rap landscape is dominated by content and podcasts, it’s refreshing to see seasoned New York vets step back into the booth and remind listeners what bars really sound like. Maino, Dave East, Jim Jones, and Fabolous recently teamed up for a new podcast, Let’s Wrap About It, where they discuss current events and reflect on their early days in the game.
During a recent episode, the crew weighed in on 50 Cent’s involvement with Diddy’s Netflix documentary, which quickly sparked a response. In true 50 fashion, he took to social media to call out alleged unpaid bills and even joked about buying half the podcast’s rights. With the past due bills reportedly paid, the rappers responded the best way they know how, by hitting the booth.
The group dropped a gritty freestyle over a few classic 50 Cent beats, trading sharp bars and clear shots. Fabolous especially turned back the clock, delivering a standout verse that felt straight out of the old New York mixtape era.
