It’s not just a passing fandom, Lil Wayne‘s love for the Green Bay Packers runs deep, and it traces back to his late father, Reginald McDonald, who attended Super Bowl XLV in New Orleans and came home with Packers championship towels. That connection helped inspire Wayne’s original 2011 anthem, “Green and Yellow,” a remix of Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” made just before the Packers faced off against Khalifa’s hometown Steelers in that very Super Bowl, marking the first time both Super Bowl teams rallied behind the same song. A decade later, Wayne revisited the anthem for the Packers’ 2021 playoff run, recording a brand new version and telling Skip and Shannon: Undisputed he wanted fans to “hear it and be ready to run through a wall.” The tradition continues today, Wayne released a third anthem, “Special Ops,” ahead of the Packers’ 2026 season.
