Fat Joe returns to NPR’s Tiny Desk with Remy Ma, Jadakiss, Stove God Cooks, and a live band for a 10-song set, his first at NPR’s headquarters since his 2021 home concert.
Fat Joe Takes Over NPR’s Tiny Desk
Fat Joe makes his return to NPR’s Tiny Desk, technically his second time. Back in 2021, during the COVID era, Joey Crack did a Tiny Desk (Home) concert at his UP NYC store, but this time he’s in NPR’s Washington, D.C., headquarters doing his thing with a full live band led by music director Zo Harris. He told NPR he wanted to “touch the third rail,” meaning a less typical, more spontaneous Tiny Desk, and he brought the guests to make it happen: Remy Ma, Jadakiss, Stove God Cooks, Stevie Mackey, and Dre of Cool & Dre.
The 10-song set runs through his hits, including “Million Dollar Intro,” “Cocababy,” “(Ha Ha) Slow Down,” “I Shot Ya,” “New York,” “The Aroma,” “Feelin a Way,” “I Won’t Tell,” “Lean Back,” and “All the Way Up.” Jadakiss joins him on “New York,” and Remy Ma closes it out on “Lean Back” and “All the Way Up.” The set also includes music from his August album Organized Rhyme, including “The Aroma,” which he performs with Jadakiss, Stove God Cooks, and Remy Ma. It’s been a busy year for Joe, from his “Set of Keys” video with Pusha T to his Joe and Jada podcast with Jadakiss, and it’s great to see him getting this kind of opportunity.
