When Moe Green first heard Pusha T’s and Tyler, the Creator’s new single “Trouble On My Mind” he was instantly drawn to the track, largely because the track, produced by Pharrell, brought the Bay rapper back to a sound he used to love. “The beat for ‘Trouble On My Mind’ nails that old Star Trak feel perfectly to me,” says Moe. “I was a big fan of what they were doing with that sound back in the day; this one jumped out to me immediately.” Though Moe’s version of the track only delivers one verse, it’s not to be forgotten. As Moe proclaims, “Putting on for all the ones who ain’t around/ Moe Green, understand I will move the sound,” he navigates the thumping Neptunes frame with his usual ease and heavy-dropping flows.
