    CAHLAJ (pronounced kəˈläZH) has taken the last two years to craft BROKEN SILENCE, a socially conscience and introspective mixtape. The video to “Heroes” shows images of African-American figures that have helped shape and influence modern culture while still illustrating how average individuals are the biggest heroes in society today. “Love Crazy” is a smooth bedroom knocker for the ladies, “So Good” blends well with the modern dance movement and electro sound, while “PoetMC” allows listens to hear CAHLAJ’s lyrical prowess.
    CAHLAJ has teamed up with producer Marcelino while working on BROKEN SILENCE. Notable producers TwizTheBeatPro (MF Grimm and Evidence), The Teamsterz (Jay Rock, Nipsey Hussel) and Best Kept Secret (Wale) have also contributed to the project.

    Street poet and rapper CAHLAJ first gained experience in high school and later joined Leila Steinberg’s (Tupac Shakur’s first manager) Open Mic Sessions. While working with Steinberg, CAHLAJ performed at several high schools and juvenile hall facilities. CAHLAJ later attended college while still pursuing a career in music. Still a current college student, CAHLAJ finally will share his thoughts with the world with the debut of BROKEN SILENCE.
